BULGARIKA RETURNS TO HUMBOLDT!

Anton Shekerjiev, Stoyan Kostov, Donka Koleva, Nikolay Kolev
The Bulgarian Folk Band, BULGARIKA, returns to Humboldt County to deliver a wealth of beautiful, traditional Bulgarian music to our community.
Donka Koleva is an award-winning vocalist
Nikolay Koleva is an expert in the Bulgarian rebec, a vertical stringed viol, as well as arrangement and composition of Bulgarian folk music.
Stoyan Kostov plays the tambura and has been the instructor at many workshops throughout –
Anton Shekerjiev plays the tupan and gaida (Bulgarian bagpipe) and is joining Bulgarika for the first time this year.
On Monday, October 13, the band will perform a concert and then play music for dancing, led by members of the Humboldt Folk Dancers.
Private lessons in traditional Bulgarian singing, instruments (gadulka, tambura, tupan) are available for individuals and small groups.
